Electus Academy was founded in the fall of 2004, with the purpose of serving students who were not successful in their public school programs or desired a change from traditional classroom settings to succeed. Ultimately, Electus became a Missouri DESE approved private agency for the placement of special education students by public school districts. To maintain this approval, Electus must demonstrate, every year, that it is in compliance with all state regulations, including certified staff, an appropriate curriculum, and a facility that is safe and conducive to learning.
Over the years, Electus Academy has continued to grow and improve its programming, while still remaining faithful to its original mission. As a result, we hold to a student/staff ration of 4:1; we offer individualized instructional services, a “family” environment, and therapy to meet individual needs and disabilities.
Located in St. Peters, Missouri, Electus Academy currently serves students from a variety of school districts in St. Louis and surrounding counties. As an approved agency, we can serve students from any area within reasonable transport distance.
As a not-for-profit entity, Electus Academy is governed by a Board of Directors, composed of mental health, business, and educational professionals. Certified and para-professional staff members undergo rigorous screening and employment processes, and must be committed to developing important relationships with the students they serve. Further, they share our mission, as demonstrated by their willingness to go far beyond just the school day in the preparation of activities, the environment, and the promotion of student well-being.
